07.11.19—20:00    KASK lecture: Melissa Gordon Campus Bijloke - Cirque lecture

Painter Melissa Gordon is investigating the politics of abstraction and the role of modernism in the presentation of painting. Traces from art history, mechanical reproductions or paint remnants in her studio are the starting points for her work. The works are hung by Gordon on unfinished walls, thus breaking through the boundaries of the painting and at the same time subtly questioning the tradition of the modernist white cube.
